Week 4- Raise Dopamine Levels
I do feel that people may raise their levels of dopamine and that positive attitude is part of it. I hate that the science world contributes our medicine just to this placebo effect, because I feel it is beneficial (I don't have to prove that to you guys at least) whether people want to "believe" it or not. I know that good attitude isn't everything, but if a person is very sick, he/she will not get better being negative most of the time.

I agree with you that a positive versus a negative attitude has an affect on our health. I was reading "Power Versus Force: the Hidden Determinants of Behavior" by renowned psychiatrist and author David Hawkins that a friend recommended to me. David has done some ground-breaking work over his career and in this book he talks about how he used kinesiology to determine the vibratory levels of different emotions, and their effects on health. There is a great "MAP OF CONSCIOUSNESS" chart in the book (I'll bring a copy in to class) that illustrates the different vibratory levels equated with each emotion. It was very enlightening to read. Shame calibrates 20 on one end of the scale, 20 on the scale; and on the other end is Enlightenment which measures 700-1000. All the other Levels of Consciousness are in between. However, according to Hawkins, the "critical response point in the scale of consciousness calibrates at 200 (associated with integrity and courage)...all attitudes, thoughts, feelings, associations, etc. below that level of calibration make a person go "weak", those that calibrate higher make subjects go "strong". This is the balance point between weak and strong attractors. between negative and positive influence". Our shamanic teachers are always encouraging us to keep our vibratory levels high, to promote health on all levels. This is one tool I can use, to let me know where I am personally on the scale at any given moment.
